About Us

Making the Torah accessible — and beautiful.

Bringing merit to Jews of every background by opening the wisdom of our sacred texts to all, with love.

To the Sages, beauty was the visible radiance of the divine. The Tree of Life Books was born from a simple conviction: that the depth and splendor of Torah deserve editions as beautiful as the wisdom they carry.

Each volume takes a sacred text — from the Five Books, the Prophets, the Writings, and the Talmud — and presents it in the original Hebrew alongside a clear English translation, accompanied by the classic commentaries that have illuminated these words for generations. The teachings of Rashi, the interpretations of Malbim, and insights from Chassidut and Kabbalah are woven in to make the text not only readable, but alive.

Translated, illustrated, arranged

Every book is translated, illustrated, and arranged by Rabbi Boruch Merkur. The original artwork is not decoration — it is interpretation, an attempt to render visible the radiance the Sages perceived in the words themselves. The result is a book meant to be opened on a table, shared in conversation, and given as a gift that lasts.

“As we unite to free ourselves from the world's darkness, let us find what unites us — the light of our holy Torah — and let us do it with love.”
